Twice last night my involuntary breathing went to hell. You know how if you don't think about breathing, you will take nice measured breaths and be fine? Well, twice last night, once while awake, once while trying to sleep and failing, my breaths started coming short, shallow and quick. I could force myself to take the measured breaths I needed to have enough oxygen but it was not happening automatically. This was, of course, particularly distressing when I was trying to sleep!

Anyone know what this is? The only thing I can think of was that it was a panic/anxiety reaction, except I wasn't feeling particularly anxious (that I know of) at the time... but I can see that I was under a lot of stress.

Had insomnia for a large portion of last night. Might have some caffeine but I'm going to try to avoid it if possible because its bad for me and might bring out anxiety.

Um. I know there was something else but I'm blanking so I'll post this and go do something else now.

Great link that gives you useful information about your legal rights if you have a disability, physical or mental, that may interfere with your job... info about pre-employment in this case (interviews and such) as well as your rights for taking leave, what your employer can ask you, etc.

Today I had the weirdest phone glitch ever.

Last night I turned my phone off. When I woke up I turned it back on and there was a message. So I call up my voice mail to listen to it.

I hear [livejournal.com profile] mikz voice saying, "Hi [livejournal.com profile] karenbynight, this is Mik."

I think, oh, ok, he called my number by accident, I'll have to call him and let him know.

His voice continues, "I seem to have locked my keys in the car, and I was wondering if you're still at House Dreamland and can bring the set of spare keys to me on your way out."

I think, Huh, deja vu. He did that like a month ago, and ran into me outside my office building and used my cell to try to call her, and then his house, and then dispatch.

Then his voice says, "Luckily I ran into [livejournal.com profile] questioner and I'm using her cellphone."

?!?

Apparently, it IS the message from a month ago, and somehow, this morning, it wound up in MY voicemailbox. ?!? Isn't that REALLY strange?

I'm trying to book tickets for a trip to Boston in January. I'm trying to decide which of these windows would be best:

Jan 9-19 (I would be in Boston for both the FFF and Arisia; Unseelie COULD potentially join me for the FFF and then return in time for classes on the 15th, but if he didn't, I'd be missing some of his vacation time which could be spent visiting elsewhere)

Jan 15-25 (I would be in Boston for Arisia and one other weekend)

Are there any important events in SF or Boston going on between Jan 9-15 or 19-25 that you know of that I should care about/would affect my decision?

Please let me know!
