Friday night it was so hot that we slept with the window wide open and I had virtually no sheets covering my body.

Turns out that the alcove my window opens up to is a mosquito breeding ground; water gets in and then takes forever to evaporate. So at dance class I look in the mirror, and realize I'm covered with red dots, and start freaking out. Am I coming down with something? Am I infectious? Shit! Then I realize that I feel fine and its probably just bug bites. Now they're itching like mosquito bites, but at least I don't have something really nasty.

So I sleep for two nights at [livejournal.com profile] unseelie's place, and last night my entire left side was aching, which kept me up for large portions of the night. Shoulder, arm, and hip. Ow.

I also appear to be coming down with something cold-like. Which Odwallas are good for nipping a cold in the butt?

Aside from all that, the weekend was awesome. Sin was great fun as always in spite of the heat and some stupid initial stress. Saturday I had fun in spite of the heat, had really good social conversations with [livejournal.com profile] unseelie, and then got sucked into a 3 hour processing conversation with him about our individual issues and relationship stuff that was really cathartic and worthwhile. I hadn't realized we needed it, but I've felt SO much better since then. Sadly, said conversation delayed our appearance at [livejournal.com profile] karenbynight's birthday party, but we still made it for a very short two hours, which was nice.

Sunday, I somehow managed to get a lot done. LWB flopped, but [livejournal.com profile] dragon_spirit and I watched Strange Days together, I fixed the hat I bought at the last Ren Faire, I cleaned some dishes and put away both my and [livejournal.com profile] unseelie's laundry, and cleaned my room up some. Pretty productive.

Then [livejournal.com profile] unseelie and I had a date night which was really wonderful. Its something we plan to do weekly from now on, to make sure we get QUALITY us time.

In spite of the mosquitoes, aches, cold, and sleeping issues, it was a fabulous weekend.

Shiny!

partner search ad just got sent to my inbox. He looks like a perfect match on paper. He's probably a skinny asian boy, but... hopefully he can see past my weight. I already emailed him; hopefully he'll get back to me!

Squee!

In other news, I have decided I need a fondue pot. Three, actually. One for cheese, one for oil, and one for chocolate. And then there will be fondue parties.

I want to eventually have fondue parties, and I'm wondering if anyone out there has ever done these before, and might be able to give advice on what one needs to make it work...

I'm currently thinking three separate sets, one for oil/wine fondue, one for cheese, and one for chocolate. But I was looking at this website, and it had this fondue set where the one burner fits all three pots, so you save space etc. My concern is that this will cut into the number of people who can eat at once, and so the fondue parties would have to be tiny.

At fondue parties, do they have all three pots out at once? Large pots, or small ones? I guess I could have small fondue dinner parties, or large snacky parties, such that the fondue wouldn't have to make up a whole meal.

I'd also love advice on brands... I bought a nice, big, expensive crate and barrel pot while I lived in Boston and it wouldn't stay lit, which was hella frustrating. I'd love to avoid an experience like that...
