Plans tonight anyone?

Tonight I will be packing for WorldCon.

Anyone want to do dinner and keep me company while I decide what to wear/bring with me? Costuming is fun! This may include lots of naked questioner changing clothes repeatedly, so comfort with nudity is advised.

As a bonus, there's lots of leftover alcohol and soda and stuff from the weekend, so free booze or other beverages are included in the deal.

Digicams

So if I do what I think I'm going to do, I'm going to drop ~$200 on a digicam sometime real soon. It has to be compatible with my iBook. Anyone have any recommendations or warnings?

Scifi authors or trends

Cyberpunk is old, and William Gibson and Neil Stephenson have done some amazing stuff, but that's past tense.

Speaking strictly about hard scifi, I am looking for the future of scifi.

Anyone have any young, up and coming authors they think are the shit?
Anyone know of any particularly interesting trends going on in scifi right now?

I'm trying to get ideas about who I want to interview about what. Let me know! Expound, flame, discuss. It could be interesting!

Digital Camera Angst -- Advice wanted

So I'm torn between the Casio EXILIM EX-S3 for $350 and the Fujifilm FinePix A310 Zoom for $300.

The former is ultra ultra thin and small, but has no optical zoom. It just activates my 'nifty gadget' fetish.
The latter has 3x optical zoom, which is nice, but it isn't nearly as exciting and special.

They both received excellent reviews on www.dpreview.com. Opinions/advice, anyone?
