The Job Hunt
Nov. 25th, 2002 05:25 pmWell, I keep on sending out my resume to appropriate writing/editing positions. Haven't heard back from a one except that first place I interviewed with.
I'm applying to work at Good Vibes, as they have a sales associate position I can just barely afford to work in.
And there's a secretarial position at Metronome Ballroom. It only pays $10/hour plus benefits, but I'd be allowed to use the studio for free and might even get discounts on lessons. I could start dancing again, but... I'd be wasted in a job like that. Should I apply anyway? Maybe I could work it for a while... relax, regain my sanity, and then job search while I'm IN the job...
Dunno.
And I'm wondering if I should start also applying for executive assistant type jobs. I KNOW I'd be really good at that. I'd even find it rewarding if a little boring. I would still be wasted, but I'd be BUSY, so I wouldn't notice it. If I could find one that would take me, it might pay a reasonable amount of money. I could work long enough to save up enough money for a long unemployment streak, and then either quit or job search concurrently.
Dunno. Thoughts?
Meanwhile, our housing search continues. If you know anyone looking for housing Jan 1st, please point them our way. We've had two housing interviews so far, and have another scheduled tomorrow. Given we still have over a month... that's really not bad at all.
In the meantime, I will make popcorn and go watch a movie. yes. I like popcorn...
OH, and Death Guild! I'm thinking of going since... well... what else was I going to do with my time anyway?
Let me know if you're going, and maybe I'll see you there.
