Wouldn't it be cool to take apart a building a piece at a time and see how it was put together?

Yeah, I thought you'd like that.

Well, what I just described is called deconstruction, and it is the next big thing in green building, expected to eventually nearly replace demolition as a way of taking down small buildings.

Most deconstruction crews are run by non-profit agencies such as Habitat for Humanity, and consist of volunteers like you.

So.

I know some of you out there will think this is The Coolest Thing Ever. So I'm telling you. Go sign up for a deconstruction crew. It'll be cool, it'll be good for the environment, and it will be good for a charity.
