I have to apologize to you all for my drama last week. Combine waiting for Wired to get back to me (they still haven't) with PMS (normal+hormonal imbalances from switching from the pill to the patch) and the usual background stress I've been going through, mix it up with sarcastic witty flames aimed at yours truly, and you get a not-so-cool Questioner!

Anyway.

Started my Feri class with [livejournal.com profile] veedub. Rock! It was very interesting and calmed me right down (well, that and some hugs from ScionFey and nice words from others on lj). I was a little anxious going in because I felt that I hadn't prepped sufficiently, but I was not the least prepared, and so it was all ok. And my veggie sushi seemed to be well-received. w00t.

Saturday I taught, met up with boy, had food, showered, and then headed to San Rafael for dinner with [livejournal.com profile] divineseduction. She's fabulous. I feel bad because I really would like to cook HER dinner at some point. Whenever I go to her place she ends up doing all the work and she's under enough stress these days. Then again, she likes cooking and so maybe it is a de-stressor.

Either way, enjoyed conversation and hanging out and the food was awesome in spite of Safeway meat sucking.

Afterwards we went to Macha Nightmare and Corby's 50/60 party. Some interesting folk there, though it was winding down... I didn't know anyone though and it was small enough that there was definitely some discomfort. Still, I like Macha and was glad to be able to drop in, since she was only a short drive from [livejournal.com profile] divineseduction's place.

Today I taught again and scored a private lesson student. Only for an hour a month, but every bit makes a difference, right? I'm hoping more students will want to sign up for private lessons after they get their report cards. There's still a part of me that is hoping that the teaching skating thing will pick up enough that I can do it as a part time job and do whatever (journalism foo) the other half of the time. If the rink hired me to teach all of the group lessons it has in any week, that would be $150/week. Bah. Maybe if it were supplementing a part-time job that would work... grr. I hate california sometimes. Back in Canada and Boston no one would have dreamed of paying me $20/hour for group lessons. The crappiest I ever got was $20/45 minute lesson. Granted, it was Canadian money, but still. And $30/hour for privates? ha! How does the rink and the government and insurance companies get to take $30 per hour that I teach? Because the customers are being charged $60/hour.

After teaching I met ScionFey at Brainwash. Then we got pizza at Extreme Pizza on Folsom, and then headed to Whirly Gig. Now I'm home. Weeee!

Enough of this. I will go... elsewhere, or something. :)
