Just a piece of wisdom for all you men and women who like women...

From the techniques of [livejournal.com profile] zebediah and [livejournal.com profile] unseelie...

But a big thing of mini chocolates. Zebediah used lindt milk chocolate truffles, ScionFey uses milk chocolate ghirardelli squares. Randomly leave them for your girl to find. Alternatively, have them for emotional emergencies... when she looks sad or upset, at least you can give her chocolate.

[livejournal.com profile] zebediah and [livejournal.com profile] unseelie are wise in the ways of women...

Know your girl, and know her taste in treats, too. My girlfriend is diabetic, and isn't a big chocolate fan, so chocolate's right out -- but really good tea has a similar effect for upsetness, and shiny things to leave around. As for myself, any boy fool enough to offer me *milk* chocolate -- especially if I was already stressy -- wouldn't like the results. (And it had better be expensive dark chocolate.)

Agreed. Just like, if anyone offers me mint chocolate, they are clearly confused.

Knowing your girlfriend is good. Leaving little treats around for her is also good.

For the most part, the chocolate thing goes for all girls, though apparently yours is an exception.
But the little neat things probably goes for anyone. And we all try...

If the girl in question is dieting, it can also get a boy into hot water without him knowing it. "You're trying to get me fat!" "Nono honey! I just thought you'd like..." "I'm faaaaaaat! Waaaaah! You hate me!"

Given that I tend to prefer a somewhat more full-figured look, I don't think I'd mind the effects of small doses of chocolate on anyone's figure. I'm generally more likely to try to convince her she doesn't need to diet...of course, I don't think there's ever been acutal success on that front since the concept of "dieting" was invented...

[livejournal.com profile] feyandstrange is partial to Godiva dark chocolate with raspberry. Or dark chocolate in general, as long as it's high-quality. Nestle's will not do. Ghirardelli is, I think, barely passable, if she's having a bad hormone day. Far better are Lindt, the aforementioned Godiva, and Leonidas. Or anything Belgian.

awww...

See, he's clearly studied and paid attention. This is one of the reasons why I love him so much.

Why can't I have this level of information about the women I know?

Yah. The key is DEFINATELY to know your woman. All things being equal though, my weapon of choice is Godiva's chocolate covered strawberries.

This is one reason of many that a fair amount of chocolate can almost always be found on my personage. Regarding the problems noted above, I've found it useful when I run into trouble to simply explain that, overall, I've found keeping chocolate on me to be something that helps a situation, and that my intent was good even if the chocolate itself is undesirable. Then I take the opportunity if I can to find out what would have been better, and attempt to keep some on hand when I know I'll be around that person.

I actually have a rather interesting stock of chocolate and treats that rotate into and out of my jacket depending where I'm going, though since they rarely come out nobody ever knows.
