I find Google Reader works well (or at least well enough for me), plus I can view it from anywhere. You can also use it to create a single feed for use with something else out of everything you read. (For instance, I have a smaller feed for podcasts which is the only thing iTunes is subscribed to.)
I used to use http://www.feedreader.com/ when I was trying out RSS feeds and such. Damn useful, but I just didn't follow through, and the leagues of unread stuff just got frustrating.
