Weekend of Awesomeness
May. 6th, 2008 12:47 amThis weekend was made of awesome once it got the bad luck out of its system.
It included BiFest, my first night in a hostel, Buckingham Palace, James Garden, many sorts of fowl including two black swans, most of a game of Arkham Horror (which I recommend -- I mean, come on, Cthulhu, if nothing else), a wander at a local fair in Bristol, my first cream tea, and the book Fire and Hemlock by Diana Wynne Jones.
I wish I could go into more detail but I'm already up past my bedtime. So I'll only say that I'm really truly grateful for all the kindness people in the local community have shown me. Everyone (with maybe one exception) has been extremely welcoming and friendly, and I've had a tremendous amount of fun. For any of you who might be reading me now, thank you. I look forward to seeing you all again!
Schedule changes:
-next weekend instead of trying to get to WitchFest in London, I'm going to go for the local Comix Expo, which is about as cheap but easier for me to get to. Saturday evening I'm babysitting. And I could also take Sunday to go to Cardiff or Bath.
-weekend after that I'm guessing it'll be Oxford for a day if I get a ride there, and Cardiff or Bath the other day. OR I'll take the whole weekend for Glastonbury, and do Oxford later.
-weekend after that I have one last day to spend in Bristol or near Bristol, and then I have to take all my belongings and go... elsewhere. Beltane Bash Sunday and Monday.
-Tuesday evening for Bi meetup (or is it poly?), and the rest of the week and the following weekend to kick around London and/or visit Glastonbury and/or visit Oxford and/or visit Durham (whatever's left on my list and will actually fit in)
-Tuesday evening following the poly meetup (or is it bi?), and the next morning I fly out
Hopefully over the next week I'll get the rest of that schedule settled. But now, to sleep.
