Basically, an anchorman at MSNBC calling for Bush to resign, as Nixon did.

Edit
Since several people have corrected me... Olberman is not so much an anchorman as a more liberally-minded pundit. Makes this less of an impressive statement.

That's par for the course for Keith Olbermann, long may he wave. Check out some of his other editorials on YouTube.

I wouldn't call Keith Olbermann an anchorman (as I've seen you and a few other people do tonight) -- that implies that this is a "fact-based" journalist taking the extraordinary step of setting his objectivity aside, as Walter Cronkite did after the Tet offensive. This is nothing of the sort. I wouldn't go so far as to call Olbermann a liberal Bill O'Reilly (Olbermann at least lives on the same planet as most of the rest of us), but he's definitely more a pundit/commentator than a reporter.

Thanks for the perspective, I've edited my post accordingly. I can tell you a lot about the gossip in the science and technology journalism world, but I don't pay much attention to the "normal" journalistic press -- especially those who are on TV.

What's cool about this is that MSNBC's ratings are up, CNN's ratings are down a little, and Fox News's ratings are down a lot.

He's less a liberal Bill O'Reilly as a liberal Bill Buckley ... he's an intelligent man with strong opinions, and while he does sometimes resort to mudslinging it's only at specific targets (like O'Reilly).

There are so many great Olbermann speeches it's hard to even know where to begin. Check the website Crooks and Liars (http://www.crooksandliars.com/) -- they've archived most of his best moments.

I wouldn't call Keith a pundit. 95% of the time what he does is present the news with about as much bias as, well, and newscaster (with, yes, some of that news being things such as "look at this silly bear on a trampoline" from the nightly "oddball" section). There's definitely more news than commentary, though he does have regular guests that provide commentary (including some from the right). His special comments are definitely all opinion but they're well highlighted as such and he does fewer than two of those a month. And, yes, he did have one recently that was calling out the democratic congress as well, so his targets aren't all on the right. Politically I'd say he's probably center-left.

I ADORE Keith. Hottest man in newscasting bar none! And at least half of what makes him hot is his wit :)
