My day, and CSWA Conference
Apr. 10th, 2007 09:29 pmSince returning home, I have:
-reorganized all of my books and bookshelves, including culling many of the magazines of which I have copies
-cleaned loads of dishes
-took out some trash and the recycling
-cooked myself lunch and dinner and a low-carb mixed berry crumble
-made more progress on the meal moth situation
-confirmed that I am registered to start school in September, and got info on when what is due in terms of tuition
-had some really great relationship talks with my Spryte over email (I love you hon!)
-placed about three whole pieces in the puzzle
-figured out why my knitting wasn't working
-cuddled with the kitties
-did some emailing to plan for the new housemate's move-in
... and probably more I can't think of!
Anyhow, I've been excited because this year the Canadian Science Writer's Association's conference is nearby in London, Ontario, and also it is NOT on Pride Weekend.
But, the normal member fee even if I skip the banquet and register by May 1, is $200. The student fee is $100, but I'm not a student yet.
I really don't think I can swing that.
So, I emailed them and asked if I could either volunteer in exchange for a discount, or pay the student fee, given my unusual situation. I'm hoping that between the sickness benefit and future student status, they'll be feeling generous.

Now I must wash more dishes, transfer more spices to containers, and do a little more rearranging on the bookshelves.
