More on scholarships

Emphasis is mine. To me, putting "normally" in there implies that there IS some flexibility on this matter.
Truth is I haven't the foggiest idea what my GPA would be if I calculated it for just the last two years... and I don't have a copy of my transcript. I'd have to order ANOTHER from MIT, for another $15 USD, in order to find out. Bah. However, I do know that I have one grade in my 3rd year that was a C-. I was going through a divorce, though, so there's a good reason for that. I spent an entire month of that term homeless, sleeping on the floor of a friend's dorm room, scared to attend classes because my ex might decide to 'show up.'
Still, it doesn't look good for me. Perhaps I SHOULD make an appointment to speak with someone involved with the program. When I'm not being so fucking emotional.

That's about plain ole' admission. The information on scholarships just vaguely says that they are based on academic merit. When I write up this application, I'd best make it quite clear what my situation was in my Junior year.

These scholarships seem to want a minimum 80% admission average. Not sure how that translates into GPAs, let alone MIT's weird ass GPA system. I think I probably qualify, though.

1.4) What grades are required?
To be eligible to apply, a student must have at least a B- average overall and a B+ in the major discipline in each of the last two years of study. The competition for spaces is stiff, however, and most successful applicants have grades that significantly exceed the minimum.
