[BOSTON] Friday night

Anyone have thoughts about plans for Friday night?

Parties? Clubs? Movies?

Some ideas are to go to see Eragon, or if someone has the existing episodes of Torchwood, and someone is willing to offer their living room, there could be a Torchwood marathon. (mmm, panxenosexual Doctor Who universe!)

Eragon's getting pretty seriously panned; I'd give it a miss. (I'd point to some entries but they're flocked. sigh) Suffice it to say, good kids' movie, otherwise neither good enough to be worth watching nor bad enough to be worth laughing at.

My plan is actually to depart for Kentucky on Friday evening, if I find crash space for Friday night somewhere a few hours away and vaguely in the right direction.

Well in a roundabout way it kind of is. I'm going to go to that NYE party at Vynce's parents' in Louisville that some DaPers sometimes go to, and so perhaps I will see several DaPers. I'm going to be staying with my ex-gf emilyrose for the weekend, and I originally met her at one of those NYE parties years ago (she also happens to be Vynce's cousin, though they'd fallen out of contact for many years and were reunited at the same party, within minutes of when I met her :). She and I might roadtrip to Colorado after the party.

I don't think it's a filter, I think she just put BOSTON at the start to get people's attention (because a lot of non-Boston people are here right now, 'cause Boston's a great place to be for the New Year's, which is why all my friends seem to be hosting people ;-) )

Ahh, it all becomes clear! I know Danae used to have filters for events in Hamilton, in Toronto, etc. and wondered if I'd made it onto a Boston one somehow :)

Pan's Labyrinth opens tomorrow night; we were thinking about trying to catch it. I'd seriously, seriously avoid The Eye of Eragon in any medium....

I have a complete run of Torchwood up to last Sunday, but I *think* I'm busy this evening. Will know soon.

If, however, you'll be in town on New Year's Day, might I suggest a marathon on New Year's day, combined with me starting to download the last two episodes from bittorrent (last sunday I had the new episode within 90 minutes of it finishing on British TV). Admittedly, that'd be about an 11 hour marathon, and I need to make sure my houseguest (pann_da_bear, from London, ON) and my roommate's houseguest, would be up for it, but it'd be nifty, and we do have a great living room with space for people.

If not, and you want to get me 7 cds before you leave (because I'm running a little low on 'em), I can burn the whole first series for you after I get 12 and 13, and mail them to you next week. Or hand them to you if you're here after the 2nd. or if you come back for Arisia. So many possibilities! ;-)
