Passport Reference needed: known me for two years?

Bah.

So, my Canadian passport requires two references, to whom I am not related, who I have known for at least two years.

I can't find information anywhere on whether or not the references have to be Canadian.

Anyone who has known me for 2+ years willing to be my second reference (regardless of citizenship)?

Please send me your surname, given name, address (including apartment number, but not postal or zip code), home telephone number, business telephone number, and how long we've known each other.

ESPECIALLY if you have Canadian citizenship.
