Bestest bad week ever!
Oct. 8th, 2006 01:23 amWhere to start?
Last Friday and Saturday, had a fabulous time prepping for the party and shopping with my sweeties. Saturday evening, the Elysium housewarming (and birthday party) was an astounding success, running until 3 a.m. And Sunday, I had a lovely day again with my sweeties.
Monday was kind of depressing with the news I got from Wisconsin, but I had fun at the social (albeit curtailed by Another Headache).
Tuesday I got some really positive feedback from my uber boss, and some info that made me feel good about myself and the future.
Wednesday I was home sick, but was able to care for myself and get some useful things done before being rescued by a Wolfie.
Thursday (my birthday!) I worked a ten hour day, but it was super productive, which felt good. Then I had an extremely tasty Indian meal, and went home with my Spryte. BTW, birthday presents have included cash donations to my various funds, a travel lite brite, a leather top, a book about courtesans, and an original Spryte watercolour -- as well as a Spryte watercolour gift card. I'm a lucky gal!
Friday my Sprytely dahling and I wandered the Eaton Centre and chatted and frolicked, and then I had therapy. Therapy was actually quite productive, and afterwards I hopped over to the Humane Society, where I fell in love with the two most darling cats EVER.
That evening I had a hot date that turned out to not be so hot. That was the second disappointment of the week... said person has concluded that he just isn't interested in that way, a bit of a shock to my arrogant system. And likely, an important lesson.
Today, I woke up and spent some time with my Wolfie and
technodemon's spawn, who was being mostly cute. Then we went and picked up
darkestembrace and went to the Humane Society, where she ALSO fell in love with the kitties. Yay! I have since received reports that the kitties have been successfully adopted... I can't wait to get pictures, and to get to know them! So excited!
Anyway, then the Wolf drove me to Hamilton where I was able to hang out with my friends. I had scheduled my weekend kinda tightly... I had assumed that they couldn't give me much time, so I didn't SCHEDULE much time with them. The more fool I; apparently I could have hung out and gamed into the night. Alas. Next time.
While there, I finished the dragon hat for The Cute One, and I now have a picture of her in it. So cute! I also met the Bear, who has got to be the most good-natured baby girl EVER. Her hat fits too, which is a surprise since it is a one year old size, and the Bear is only 4 months or so. But, it did fit funny, so she'll grow into it nicely. Now I just need to knit the ears and sew them on.
If it wasn't apparent, it was a day of cuteness overload; first the demon Spawn, then the kitties, then The Cute One and the Bear and the hats on them... I got to hold the baby and play with her and SQUEEEEEEEE!
My daddy came and picked me up and I had dinner with my parents and then transferred some tv shows that had recorded onto DVD. Then I entered in the remainder of my financial data. Depending on which data I include, looks like my monthly variable expenses leave me with an excess of between $100 and $500+. So, I'm doing ok. I just need to keep on cutting down on expenses, and before you know it, I'll be able to travel guilt free and even buy myself toys like a new iPod, or my OWN HDD-DVD recorder. Yahoo!
Tomorrow I get to cook/bake and then hang out with friends at a thanksgiving gathering, and Monday I get QT with my sweeties, possibly with some shopping mixed in, followed by the Poly Social.
I'm feeling really happy.
I'm also coming to terms with some realities, and beginning to think that I would be really HAPPY to go back to school. I think it would be fun/really cool! And, I may just be able to pull it off without incurring much debt, and if I COULD do that, it would be super awesome. :)
And now, bed time. In the morning, more goodness. The weekend is not yet over! Yay!
