Danae needs cheering me up.

Tell me something nice, or happy, send me a funny or cute link, or otherwise help me out here.

Tell me about nice things that have happened to you, or things that are good in your life, or my life.

I waved to you from 38,000 ft yesterday (I was watching the GPS as your city went by out my window)

Charlotte has started smiling - true, it's involuntary and probably indicative that she has gas, but the smiles are still adorable!

all i've got is what i'm hanging onto myself, lately: that even with the tangled mess and pain, life is still beautiful. it's just beginning to be fall here, and one tree outside my window is turning slowly to gold, and another sheds leaves enough that i go shuff-shuff-shuff walking on the sidewalk underneath it. there is music, and food, and good friends; there are people in my life that i love and respect and admire, and who have the same for me, and that is a very good thing.

and since i have these handy, here you go:

"What are you building?" and "The flavor melts away my worries."

and finally, a baby sloth at the beach:

I had some yummy dates last week.

My son continues to impress me (but I might be biased.)

You have lots of friends who care about you very much and the world is a better place with you in it.

After 5.5 months of contracting, temping, consulting, and/or unemployment, I finally have a Real Job again. That's good, right?

P.S.: ...And there's a relaxacon this week in SFBay (SiliCon). I'm not as excited about it as I am about [livejournal.com profile] baycon, but... yay, con!

And, the crushing project that had a first deadline of the 6th is possibly almost done, and my car repairs are $100 cheaper than they were going to cost yesterday.

I sometimes wish I had the beautiful words that come so easily to you at my disposal..because then I would know just what to do and just what to say to make you feel better.

You can turn my moods around almost instantly with a word, look or touch.

Here's a cute kitten falling down some stairs(don't worry she's not hurt):

When my father took me up to Thunder Bay to attend university he didn't bother to book a hotel room. Previously, he had worked up there and knew somebody he was sure that we could crash at for the night.

Despite many calls along the way, my father couldn't get a hold of this person. No answer at all. My father tried getting a last minute room but everything was booked due to the beginning of the school year.

Finally, we went to the friend's house and knocked on the door in desperation. No answer - however the door was open. So, in we went. The house was empty but there was a phone number for the friend's pager. So, we called and left the number for the house.

Soon a call came back. It was the friend's son. Apparently the parent was out of town and he was at the local bar. My father took many attempts to convince the son that we're not going to steal anything (we were in the house alone), that he indeed knew my father, and if we could spend the night.

"Hi... we're calling from you're parents house... no... we're alone here... anyways, I'm not sure if you remember me... but can we spend the night?"

The son in question came home to check on us... two hours later. (Talk about odd.) He took one look at my dad, said "I remember you" and stumbled up to bed drunk.

We left early the next morning.

One of the oddest moments in my life.
