First an' foremost, today be International Talk Like A Pirate Day. Be warned -- swabbies be talkin' funny!

Secondly, last high tide' th' Poly Social be extremely well attended by new an' old shipmates, in spite o' th' rain. Aye! Also, note that this weekend be th' final narrowin' o' th' potential venue list t' only 2-3 choices.

Thirdly, me fears ben confirmed: I be NAY eligible fer th' graduate school swabbieship I`d been thinkin' o' usin'. So, I be aft t' square one: if I go t' graduate school, thar be a relatively large debt.

On a nay so fabulous note, I be feelin' extremely grumpy an' grouchy; 't started last high tide' an' I expect th' grumpiness t' continue fer th' next week. So be forewarned, and be cautious, or I might just keel-haul ye, y' lilly-livered swabbie!

Ah hah! That explains why everyone's LJ bio has changed from "Friends" and "Mutual Friends" to "Mateys" and "Mutual Mates". I was actually wondering if it was because of some special event (but then dismissed that as an absurd idea - who would make such a silly day?), then was hoping that maybe LJ had decided that "friend" was problematic and had decided to do a permanent change to something different (so that we don't have to keep making the distinction between "real friends" and "LJ friends".

Alas, that does not appear to have been the case. Talk Like A Pirate Day? Geesh! Some committees have way too much spare time on their hands.

Talk like a pirate day was started by a website and a group of people who thought it was neat/funny. Thus, we witness the p0wer of the int0rw3b.

And lest you think I actually wrote all that above... there are online pirate translators. You input what you actually want to say in normal english, and it outputs the same thing in pirate-speak.
