Lots of thinking about all sorts of things this past weekend. I feel like I tend to have problems in the category of social life and career. Whenever I try to solve one, I damage the other. It often feels like a catch 22, and it's exhausting. I wish there were an easy solution, but life keeps on teaching me that there are no easy solutions.

[Poll #757222]

Any other cool perv-friendly cities you'd like to add? I could also do the UK or anywhere in Europe, but that's intimidating as hell.

I CAN do the 20K grant if I go to school outside of Canada, but those schools would probably be much more expensive, and so it wouldn't make sense economically.

I think it's not worthwhile to apply to bachelor's programs, given that you already have a bachelor's degree. A Masters of Journalism just gets you further than a BA.

Even though i would not want to see you leave the area, if you get something that would benefit you I would say go for it. You have a career to build, hopefully what you have already done in the community can live until you return.

I would miss you but it's whats important for you.

Journalism degrees arn't anything their cracked up to be. Look at all the top columnists, editors, and publishers in the major dailies/magazines. How many of them have journalism degrees? Very few.

I don't have any particular specific information about the career or the schools in question. If I were you I would'nt bother with UBC or Dalhousie (why shoot low? you deserve better).

If the equivalent can be done here that do it in Ottawa or T.O. You also have the luxury of waiting another year if you have to. You should base all your descissions on your income and overall picture come the fall.

Personally I feel it's always beneficial to go back to school, because it gives you a new perspective and lets you get back into a relatively familiar routine of attending classes, etc. and lets you meet new people too. I wouldn't be able to comment on which University to attend, but if you attend one in a city where you know people, you may not feel motivated to go out and meet new people, which may not solve your problem (if meeting people is the problem, and school will partially fix that anyway). I wouldn't know which degree to go for either, I agree with the first poster that if you have the opportunity to go for a Masters you should (less competition that way) but that may not be beneficial in your specific situation, or another BA might align better with your interests.
