Today at random garage sales I spent $55 to get
- a small desk made to look high quality but actually fake wood; still pretty
- an end table which can be my night stand until I get my own, and then it can go in the living room or become my altar (came for free with the desk)
- a really nice, high quality end table. stained the same colour and glossiness as the feet on our comfy chair. triangular tray on the bottom. Top can fold out to a circle or to a triangular table top (drop leaf). The top is broken off, but this is fixable with carpenter's glue, I think.
I thought this was a good haul, since it was all reasonably nice stuff.
I still need some small amounts of furniture. I'm liking this garage sale thing; no more trying to stress over getting things from far away to here. Just look in the area, at my leisure.
It was a nice weekend. Cooked dinner for friends Friday, and it went well. Had a fabulous yet frustrating yet amazing day Saturday, and Unseelie apparently had a good birthday---one of the better he's ever had. That's encouraging. :)
Today was largely disappointing. The hauls at garage sales were pretty fortuitous, but we tried to find Unseelie a birthday present and were disappointed.
Anyone know where to get affordable floggers in this area, know someone who makes leather toys?
Anyone know where to get a red satin shirt with a ruffle in front? Romantigoth wear, basically.
Now I feel lonely, but inspired to write. I guess that's good. I'll finish revising Places, and start a new story. There are other useful things I could be doing. Oh well. This is me not caring.
