Knitting geeking: some finished projects
Sep. 7th, 2005 11:44 pmSince I keep on talking about knitting, I thought I ought to SHOW you what I've been doing.
Here's some photos of my iPod cozy (originally intended to be a dice bag until I realized it was perfect for the iPod and put the bottom hole in it), and my attempt to make the iPod cover. The latter didn't work out, but considering it was my second attempt at an extremely complex item with no pattern and minimal experience (and probably the wrong equipment), I figure I did pretty well, and learned some important lessons!
The next round will include pics of the ear warmer I just finished for myself, and hopefully,
outcastspice's present if I've had a chance to give it to her yet. And also maybe the hat and scarf I'm going to start on tomorrow for myself.

I'm progressing on the dragon hat, but very slowly. It's amazing how tough it can be to knit fast on needles that small! The rows on the first section are 111 stitches wide, and the needles are 3.25 mm. I just need to keep going, and I'll get there eventually. Another two cm and I get to switch to 3.75 mm needles, which might speed things up a teensy bit.
I'm entertaining the notion of embroidering dragon-like scales onto the finished product to make sure it looks like a dragon and not dinosaur hat. We shall see. ;)
