My father sent me an autumn maple leaf, dry and bright red, in the mail.

I'm in a good mood, so I'm going to take this as a sweet gesture rather than a manipulative attempt to remind me of reasons to move back to Canada in the aftermath of the elections.

Awwww! *squee*

I suppose a day spent shopping, cleaning the kitchen, and then baking a disgustingly tasty and chocolatey confection for my not-girlfriend DOES put me in a good mood, even when I'm worried about another friend (who, btw, is still at the hospital; still no idea if she'll be admitted overnight).
