Stuff/Travel plans

I have a CA driver's permit, and a bank account here. w00t.

I have a ticket to arrive in Boston Monday August 26th at 9:25 PM. I plan to use it and fly back to CA on a one way ticket sometime the next weekend/week, preferably no earlier than Sunday. Yes, that means I've decided not to do World Con. It would just be too expensive.

I hear that this is during orientation. Anyone know what time slots I should keep open in order to do interesting orientation stuff?

I'm looking for people to crash with for some or all of that time period. People may also start booking my time for that week.

I'll be at some level of busy during that week, since that's the week before I begin working, but I'd really like to see you. My mother's side of my family will also be around at that time, perhaps you can help me show them around? I still don't know what they'll want to do, and they'll be here for two days.

I'll check with the boys, but I don't see why we couldn't offer a couple of days of crash space. I mean, as long as you're not bringing any cats or anything. :)

I'd like some along time with you too if possible, but depending on scheduling I might be helpful with that. I'm going to be in town for at least a week, so hopefully your family visiting will not preclude us hanging out. :)

ESG's orientation schedule is up at http://web.mit.edu/esg/www/orientation.shtml, not sure about the rest of the Institute.

I'll be mostly at ET for work week during that time, but I'm trying to go to ESG's night-time events (and see how much of tours I can squeeze in and still be semi-awake during the workday! :) I'll definitely try to see you sometime before you go *poof!*
