More decoration gabbing

So, I'm contemplating putting deep reds with the iridescent purples of my bedset.

I held them together, and they sort of worked. Anyone think this is a hideous idea? The curtains at BBB has some red in them, so they would be the perfect transition piece too. I'd be aiming for deep blue-ish reds.

I'm also thinking if I donate the old coverlet to goodwill, I'll get a tax deductible receipt for whatever amount I make it out for, so maybe I could just do that...

The curtains you are considering have a red version, too. Did you look at those, or even look at including something like a pillow from the red version?

A friend of mine has a living room/dining room which has two walls that are abergine, and curtains that are a deep blood red, and an area rug that is purples and reds, and her room looks *great*, though it wouldn't work for everyone.
