leather workers?

Anyone know where I can find a leather worker who could use some human hair to create a flogger-like object?

I have an appointment at the salon for tonight to cut it all off and I want to put it in the flogger in order to remember it properly.

It's a Indian tradition to cut your hair short whenever you go through a serious life transformation. I'm going through one now and time has come to do this again.

Hopefully it will be the last time.

I can see the merit in that. I've actually occasionally thought about doing that myself, but my hair has now been with me through my last two major life transitions (going off to college, and breaking up with my ex-fiance) so I don't think it's really right to start now. I feel like it would just leave me feeling vulnerable. I'm sure I will find other ways to celebrate the change.

My hubby cut off a small tail some years back, and bound it into epoxy. It's very fun to play with.

My BF in Seattle could do the work for you (he makes quite lovely floggers that he's been selling to folks up at the WetSpot upon request), but we'd have to send it to Seattle to do it. And although I'm going at the end of the month, you might prefer to use someone local.

OTOH, maybe *I* should take that little tail of Akien's up there with me, and have him put a handle on it. I think that's a great idea!

Oh, and one tip--periodically wash and CONDITION your new flogger with shampoo and conditioner, to keep the hair soft and pliable. :^)

Wow. All of it?!?!?

Are you gonna shave your head, too? They'll be shocked at work. Heck, I'll be shocked even though you've told me. It's just such a big change.
