I just looked at my user info for the first time in a long time, and I noticed that there are a lot of people who have friended me whose usernames I don't recognize.

If you want to be friended, comment and tell me who you are! Also, please take the time to Overshare - This is for you if you're comfortable with queer, poly, kink, bdsm, and sluttiness. Also, random overshare information about my body and the gory details of my sex life. Sociological stuff of interest to open-minded folk may also show up here.
Pagan - For those who are interested in paganism, occult, magic(k), and similar spiritualities.
Writers - People who are into writing who can give advice or be sympathetic about the trials of being a writer
Metaprogramming - this group is NOT open to everyone and content is strictly confidential. In this group I dive deep into the inner workings of my mind and get my hands dirty. This is where I post about the underlying mechanics of how I got my more deeply imprinted programming and what I'm doing to fix it. If you're not comfortable with drug use, this is not the group for you. You can ask to be added, but you might not be.
Dojo - This filter is sort of my safe space for working through issues which aren't as delicate as those addressed in the metaprogramming group. If you want to be on this filter, you should have a positive impression of me (preferably considering me to be a friend), be interested in introspective or philosophical ramblings, be comfortable filtering what you say so that it doesn't trigger any of my hot buttons, and not view depression as whining nor dissatisfaction as temper tantrums.
SFBA - where I post social announcements and stuff particular to the SFBA folk.
and let me know which filters you want to be on.

Wee!

Hi! I've been reading your journal for a few months. Myself... poly, just learning about bdsm, a Kinsey 2. A Ph.D roboticist and geophysicist at NASA-Ames... was in ESG as a freshman... used to ballroom dance a bit, now I take figure skating lessons on Wednesdays. Married with three boys and a spouse, living in the South Bay. Boss of [personal profile] hopeforyou and a peripheral figure in several local poly circles. I'd be happy to be added...

Wow, you and I have more in common than I had realized. I was really thoroughly involved with ESG throughout my four years at MIT.
Did the ballroom, and I don't know if you saw it, but I am also a highly qualified figure skating coach.

I believe I've already added you! :)

I'm on Holly's RSVP list for the June ESG gathering out here... and I might try to hire you for coaching if you lived closer (I've been stuck at beginning freestyle -- half-flips and two-footed spins and spirals and the like -- for over a year).

Hullo...! Hope all is smashing up there. I'd prefer being on all filters you felt comfortable with sharing.

I'm on the friends list, but not sure how I'm filtered. As a "memory-jogger" we met at TorCon oh-so-briefly--you spotted the lovely [livejournal.com profile] prettypammie (she was hard to miss in that corset!) and invited us to your party.

I'm willing to read, if you're willing to share: Overshare, Pagan, Metaprogramming, Dojo.

I'd read SFBA, but alas, I'm on the wrong coast! :)

Warmly,

--Happy

I have no idea about which filter I am on. Put me on poly/fetish and magick filters...

It's Perian :)

Dunno which filters you might think are appropriate (brain GONE!), though metaphysics tend to make me kooky. poly/fetish, SFBA?

More interesting to me than the nod (http://marnanel.org/joule?user=_duncan&mode=chart) or than choosing what to ask for is wondering what Questioner will choose share with _duncan.

Several have asked about filter lists. If she wanted to share I expect she'd have chosen a month, long before the birth of LiveJournal, as a filter test. One subject a list of announced filter names. Other subjects "You are on [topic]".

See email for more.

I think I mostly run into you at DHP's; I don't recall seeing you at many dance events. "Rachel's Mark" is probably enough of a reminder.

I went to MIT undergrad, where I had a freshman roommate who was in ESG but never around -- I think he was sleeping in the ESG lounge.

I didn't discover ballroom dance until grad school at Carnegie Mellon University.

The overshare and SFBA filters sound good.

I enjoy reading your journal because I think you see the world in a completely different way then I do. With that you write in a way that I feel that I have some idea why you see the world that way.

I would like Overshare - Writers - Metaprogramming filters

I met you a couple times at some parties.
