Safari vs. Firebird/firefox... anyone have opinions?

I was falling in love with firebird on my old laptop, but this one has safari as the default, which at least isn't IE. But I miss some of the capabilities firebird has... in particular, the tab functionality is really nifty. I just don't want to go through installing it and going through all the crap necessary to make it the default web browser.

Safari has tabs - under Preferences to turn it on. I use safari on my mac and firebird on my PCs... browser goodness all around

As the other comment said, Safari does have tabs. The main problem I have is this: when I cut and paste from Safari, whitespace characters are NOT the usual ascii ones! This means that it might *look* right in whatever you paste into, but problems may occur down the line (like code doesn't run).

I have to use an old version of Safari, however, because I'm on 10.2. It may be that the newer versions don't have this problem.
