on formative psychology/neurochemistry
Oct. 29th, 2003 12:08 pmFrom the age of 6 to 16, I figured skated a lot. Exercising nearly every day from probably age 9 to 16. I was very active obviously, and I KNOW my body does not act normally w/ respect to exercise... for instance, I would skate, get home 30 minutes later, and crash pretty much right away. That's supposedly not natural, but I had no sleeping problems before college.
I'm only just now wondering what kind of impact that had on my neurochemistry. Maybe I need to exercise 5 days a week in some intense way to be a well adjusted individual. Do you think that's even possible?
I don't know anything about the way the environment interacts with our eventual neurochemistry, but I know that it does. Any thoughts on the impact my active life may have had on my neurochemistry and/or psychology?

I always have preferred to do exercise at the end of the day, then just shower, have a snack, brush teeth, and go to bed. I did that frequently while I was interning at M$, because I often had free food available during the day, so I didn't need as large a dinner as I usually eat. *g*
