I grr at livejournal
Sep. 5th, 2003 11:20 amSo I have to admit that this new layout fails to fix the one thing I ABSOLUTELY CAN'T STAND about livejournal's format.
When I'm logged into livejournal, there should ALWAYS be a link that will take me directly to updating my journal. Always. And there still isn't.
Anyone know where I go to make a few simple suggestions to the folks who run this place? I totally thought they had fixed it, but I'm not sure what the difference is at this point with the new format!

Date: 2003-09-05 12:08 pm (UTC)I'm not sure what you're looking for, though if it's anything like what I'm thinking of, it's because the "link bar" is missing from most (if not all) userpage and friendpage styles. Which means the only solution is to add code for a link bar to every page style. You presume one can, for themselves, create a userpage and friendspage style that includes a link bar at the top of the page. IIRC, you can also "force" other pages to match your style, at least on your screen.
That's about all I can offer. When I got the geek gene, the code for technical/computer skills was mysteriously missing. Go fig. :-,

Date: 2003-09-05 01:02 pm (UTC)Right now you're still at the mercy of other people's styles when viewing/replying to their comments, etc. The fix for that is currently running on the test site and should show up on the main site in a few weeks; then you can just make sure your style has all the links you want and then set the preference to always use your style instead of whatever wackadoo style came with the comment....
