A clarification on the controversial post
Jul. 16th, 2003 09:58 amI just want to make it clear since apparently it wasn't...
In the controversial post I recently put in my lj, there were three cryptic comments.
The first was about an individual.
The second discussed how I've felt in social situations on occassion around here. It wasn't insulting anyone social group in particular. It was discussing how I feel when I'm not coping with being social IN GENERAL. The masks represent the barriers preventing me from seeing how people feel about me; I have the not necessarily common belief that it is better to be honest in a gentle, polite fashion and say what you really think than be polite and 'nice.' Most people would disagree, and I've been moving away from that due to social pressure. So my beliefs and behavior on this matter are all mixed up.
The third was again about a specific person, NOT a social group, and you are best off assuming that it is NOT you. I probably shouldn't have put it in there. Live and learn.
That entry was a collection of disjointed discussion, little tidbits of what is going on in my head right now. I wrote ONE paragraph about the fiddler's green community, and most of it discussed MY failure to become friends with the folk there. My fault.
So take my advice. Please don't be insulted or offended. The vast majority of the folk on my friends groups are really amazing folk, and odds are you're one of them. Some of them, of course, are really really amazing folk...
More to follow throughout the day.
