Don't it just figure...

I get up twenty minutes early so I can pee and shower and still have plenty of time before merovingian gets here, and while I'm glancing at my laptop for email, Quincy wakes up, says hi, and goes into the bathroom. He's still in there. He couldn't have at least asked if I needed to pee?

In other news, what are you supposed to do when there's a power outage and your DSL stops working afterwards?

My wireless was still working just fine, but dragon_spirit's ethernet stopped working even after she reset her computer. So I reset the router, only to find out that that means you have to reprogram the damn thing. Should I have reset the gateway instead?

My wireless is working again, but I don't know what's up with dragon_spirit's ethernet.

Gah. get out of the fucking bathroom, boy! You're beautiful, get over it! It's been almost half an hour. Grrrr.

Eh, sometimes power irregularities just randomly cause a router to reset to its factory defaults, or otherwise go wonky. I periodically have to turn off my router and DSL modem for a minute, then turn them back on. Sometimes this results in needing to reprogram them, others not. But reprogramming them is really pretty trivial. *shrug*

I'm guessing that ISPs and the like have UPSs supporting their equipment, so it is not subjected to such irregularities...

At least with mine, it has to re-establish some kind of connection, so it'll take at least 5-10 minutes to get going again.
