I am awake
Sep. 16th, 2008 01:57 amI worked. I worked hard. It kept me up, and I still didn't finish. I still have over 200 pages of readings I haven't read for tomorrow morning, an assignment for tomorrow afternoon, and more pages of reading for the afternoon class. And then I start again, preparing for Thursday and Friday.
My bus leaves Hamilton at 7:30 a.m., so I have to get up at 6:30. That's 4.5 hours of sleep for me, the girl who is supposed to get 9 hours.
It's okay, though.
This time, I'm not going to get discouraged. This time, I'm not going to play the 'If a, then A' game. So what if I can't finish the work? It's still worthwhile to do what I can.
I'll sleep on the bus and between classes, and if I can't sleep, I'll do the readings I haven't done yet. When I get home, I'll pass out early, and Wednesday morning, I'll keep on working, until I've caught up. I'm only a class and a half behind, and barely that. I can do this.
Every step teaches me a new reason why I couldn't and can. Every step helps me realize that it isn't black and white, and the grey that was darker is lighter from this side.
So. I will prevail.
However, after spending several days reading about libel and slander and defamation laws, I think I may have to check my statements for potential libel. Or I would if I'd mentioned a single other person.
Defamation ate my brain, but not in the usual way. I'll leave you to pick apart what that meant (not that I expect you care). Good night.
