My back and ass and hands/wrists all hurt from spending all day two days in a row sitting in front of various computers.
By end of class or midnight tomorrow (unclear on which) we are supposed to have completed three soundslides, a draft of the text going on our webpage, and 70% of the webpage itself (whatever that means).
* I have the first soundslide (but there's a section that needs more pictures and fuck if I know where I could get more).
* I have *a* second soundslide, but it only has one audio interview -- the rest is slides with writing on them, with music in the background. Really nice music, though, and I did the recording myself (a very talented fiddler playing traditional newfie music at a reception, accompanied by a guitar)
* I have audio for a third soundslide from a single interview that is a pitiful shadow of what I was trying to achieve, and again, this one has only one photo available; assembling the soundslide would be trivial since there's only the one photo, but pointless
* I have a draft of the text
* I have no work done on the website
I AM very close to having all of the work I can get done (without doing more interviews) finished. Then it's just a matter of following up on potential sources and getting those interviews before NEXT Tuesday
Most of tomorrow's class will be "production" time, which means working on this stuff. So that's good. But still. I'm very tired and since I have another big deadline on Thursday, I don't get to rest much after this.
Sleeeeeep.
p.s. Oh yeah, I think I was supposed to do a blog this week, and didn't. Maybe I'll do two next week, or she'll let me hand the fourth one in late?
p.p.s. Wow, doing audio stuff eats up my disk space quickly. That and a few other things, but boy am I glad that I'm about to get an external drive. It'll give me some time before I have to actually organize and clean out my files.
