So, I crawled the Eaton Centre today looking for a black boot that won't look too ridiculous with tights and a skirt/dress, and would be relatively comfortable to wear for a while.

I hadn't realized how expensive boots run for. The boots that were in the vein I can imagine working for me were all at least $100 with the rare exception.

This was the only one I found that might work:
A doable boot?

At $90, this boot is stylish and has a relatively low heel. Still, it's 1.5", and you get what you pay for -- my impression is that Transit/Spring shoes are very low quality, probably not made of real leather, and I question whether or not it will stand up to any water or snow.

Maybe I should just suffer through the winter and wait until I can afford some Fluevog boots. BTW, if you like super-high-quality fashion goods, check Fluevog out. They are AMAZING. I'm told their heels are the most comfortable you've ever worn, and they are certainly incredibly stylish.

Something like

(except that has a 2" heel)
