Right. Today has been much more successful for me.
I cleaned up the apartment a little, knitted a little, and kept abreast of email on![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
darkestembrace's computer, which she graciously offered to let me use.
Then I went to the pharmacy, where I got three months of my meds. My health plan from work is still working. Phew!
I also found out while I was there that Ryerson tuition includes a supplementary health plan that definitely covers drugs and may cover other things like dentistry or optometry. Sweet!
While waiting to fill prescriptions, I called Apple Care from a payphone. They are sending me a new charger "just this once" and if it breaks again in the same way, I'm out of luck. They said it should arrive in 5-7 business days, but given that their receiving centre is in Markham and I live next to the financial district, it may be sooner. (while I was on the phone with them I also got lucid directions on how to get my old, faulty battery shipped back to them; it'll be nice to finally get that crossed off the old to do list).
I also picked up an ethernet cord on my way home, so that I can have a higher quality connection when I'm using Skype to call landlines (which seems to be when I start to have real problems).
The only downers are that I have to go back to the mall/pharmacy tomorrow to return the charger I bought, and to get my birth control scrip refilled. Also,darkestembrace and I were supposed to be interviewing a potential roommate tonight, and she never responded to our confirmation email. She should be arriving any minute now if she's actually coming, but I'm guessing at this point that she isn't. Phooey. Rescheduling is going to be a bitch.
In another thirty or so minutes, my sprytely dahlin' should be arriving for our hot date. She'll also be bearing a functioning laptop, which they are lending me to get work done. Since they have a copy of Skype on their laptop, I should be able to log in as myself and make phone calls again. Yay! The only way in which this will be inferior to my own computer for the purposes of writing my article is that I have a call recording software on my computer so that it is easier for me to get quotes. I'll have to type as I interview, with their computer. :(
