Quick update
Jul. 2nd, 2006 05:08 pmNice weekend so far; good mix of getting stuff done (laundry, cleaning up the apartment, and hopefully at some point, grocery shopping), apartment shopping, and socializing.
Had to do a serious look at the finances, what with a job change and move coming up. Looks like if I continue to be moderate in my spending, I'll have 3K in savings throughout this transition, which is my aim; less than 3K and I start to get nervous.
I also am still owed $600+ as a tax refund, which has not arrived. I think it's way overdue at this point, so I may have to look up the relevant numbers and call to find out what's up.
Apartment hunting is being fruitful. We've been to see 3 places so far, and have appointments for 1 more today, 2 tomorrow, and an interview/meeting with a potential fourth housemate tomorrow (I'm told she's queer, kinky, and pagan... dunno about poly). Since it's so early in the process, I'm actually feeling quite hopeful.
Scheduling is getting interesting, and I might have to start scheduling in time for work on my volunteer work and on my freelancing if I want to actually get any of it done. Especially since some more work == more breathing room financially == GOOD. I've been doing too much socializing + apartment hunting, but it has been a good change of pace, given how hard I've been working lately.
Also: It's FUCKING HOT out, and annoying whistle and horn blowing World Cup fans should all be run down in the street.
