Home sick again
Jun. 13th, 2006 08:25 amWhere is the Danae?
Saturday I began to come down sick with a particularly nasty cold.
I tried to go into work Monday and left after a half day. I took two two hour naps, and then went to sleep and slept/lay in bed for 9 hours. This morning, still feeling crappy, so I called in sick again.
The physical symptoms aren't that bad... just a little stuffed up and sneezy. But I feel exhausted and like I have no brain, which makes being at work a cruel joke. At home, I can work on my 9ICB presentations and when my brain shuts down, take a nap. Wash, rinse, repeat. The average cold lasts about a week (2-14 days being the range). I'm on day 4, so it is reasonable to hope for recovery any day now.
Unfortunately, massive quantities of sleep tend to act as a depressant, as does illness. So, I'm starting to feel pretty down, mostly about my job, but also somewhat about being ill and being a Bad Person for calling in sick, and about wanting to be well enough to fully enjoy 9ICB etc. this coming weekend. Blah.
Wish me recovery!
