Glasses, glasses, and more glasses! Comments welcome

Today, rbowspryte, tocityguy, and I went eye glass shopping with the assistance of will279802 and Sweetie.

The trip was prompted by an emergency: rbowspryte's glasses had broken, and they were crazy glued together, but just barely.

We were all eager to update our styles, and I think the trip was successful. rbowspryte walked out with her absolute favourite pair of glasses. Although they were about $120 more than some of the others she looked at and liked almost as much, they were her favourites and the only ones she could get on the spot; other stores would have to order the glasses in, which would take anywhere from two days to two weeks.

tocityguy and I ordered in glasses to compare, and put down a deposit in order to "promise" to buy from the same place. That's how we bargained for such great deals.

My three glasses:
-Rbowspryte's favourite on me; I'd be getting it in the dark purple

-The third, which may be my favourite, is from the 2006 catalogue, which no one seems to carry yet online. :( Their website requires a password to view the new catalogue. Tres annoying! For those who are curious (ie. no one), they are Kliik 188.

I also seriously considered, but ultimately eliminated, these glasses:
-Rbowspryte wasn't impressed by these
-She quite liked these, however
-I still kind of wonder about these, since I totally have a thing for tortoise shell... but it wasn't meant to be

tocityguy's glasses:
-Weren't sure which colour to go in, so he ordered two colours to choose from -- I think this is the right frame
-The runner up, but it would have been in the black with silver arms

rbowspryte's glasses, followed by her next favourite two:
-Can't find a picture of the ones she actually got, unless this is them. If that isn't them, it was something very close to those, in black. It didn't look that severe, though, and I thought it was less angular.
-These ones in Mocha
-Not the best picture, but they are a double frame on top, with one line of metal in purple and the other in a wine red, iirc

I just made it home in time to change out of my "I WOULD do me" t-shirt into some pretty clothing before my parents arrived. Of course, after I got dolled up in a red velour skirt and matching velveteen dinner jacket, with a see-through ruffled pinstriped black blouse underneath, skin-coloured fishnets, and matching red sandal heels, my parents hadn't dressed up at all.

We went to Via Oliveto in the Annex. It was pretty good, but I still like By The Way Cafe better.

I had to laugh when my father said that most people don't bother looking for nice glasses, and besides, glasses just blend into your face and no one notices them after the first five minutes. Whatever. Just because he is unobservant and has no taste does not mean that it doesn't impact his perception of people subconsciously. (and yes, most people are not as thorough as I am. Obssessive much? Just a little)

Came home, chatted on the phone with the sweeties, and got some more work done on the Gaylaxicon article. However, I'd rather be having sex, or masturbating.
