Update: Yesterday and today
Feb. 16th, 2006 08:34 amFirst, bad things.
(1) Globe and Mail hasn't gotten back to me. It is a mild faux pas to double pitch, but if attempts to phone them about the pitch are not successful today, I will probably try to pitch to another market. It's either that or not write the story at all!
(2) I forgot to take my meds yesterday morning, and didn't remember until bedtime. A search on missed doses of Effexor at midnight last night yielded the advice to take the missed dose unless you are going to be taking your next dose shortly, in which case you should skip it. I figured that since I try to take them around 10 a.m., taking the dose at midnight and then delaying my next dose until noon would be ok. *crosses fingers* Luckily, other than a mild mood crash around 10 p.m., I did not experience any negative side effects of withdrawal.
(3) I feel anxious and unprepared for the conference. And unfortunately, I won't have downtime to myself on the plane because Patron is on the same flight as me. So I need to be 'on' the moment I get to the airport. :(
Next, good things.
Last night was really wonderful.
will279802 picked me up from work and we shopped for dinner ingredients, then drove to PI. I made a marinade while he chopped up the meat, and then we let it marinate while we went to the bedroom for some, um, us time. ;)
Later we cooked the stir fry -- mango chicken stir fry, based in pomegranate-mango juice -- which I finished up while he went to pick
rbowspryte up from work. This gave me a great opportunity to make it all pretty. I found serving containers for the stir fry and rice, a candle and matches, and set my laptop to play classical music. Then I found their champagne flutes (didn't see any wine glasses) and set the table. Since
rbowspryte had had a bad day, it was especially nice to have her come home to a nice, home cooked dinner. Yay! It was also nice to note that, even after splurging on two mangos, deboned chicken thighs, pre-chopped and mixed fresh stir fry veggies, and the pomegranate mango juice, we got five or so meals out of it so that it came to only about $4/meal. Not bad!
Afterwards the three of us went for more private time, and it was a lovely, lovely thing. More detail about that on a different filter. ;) Happy Valentine, sweeties!
