When I talk about my wrist problems, I say I have RSI, which stands for Repetitive Stress Injury. People say, "what?" And I explain what it is, and often they'll say, "Oh, you mean carpal tunnel."

No, I don't. And neither do you. In fact, your doctor may even be misusing the name.

The fact is that only 2-3% of the population has carpal tunnel, which is NOT caused by computer use. The rest of you have RSI. So, call it by the right bloody name, will ya?

Today has been a constant struggle with anxiety. The housing situation, with impending visit to Boston, is causing me a great deal of anxiety, and I have still heard nothing from either job. Tomorrow, I might just call/email them both again.

I want it to be over, but settling for a crappy situation is not the path to happiness. Constantly waiting and being anxious isn't either, but it can be a step on the path. I guess I feel like things are spinning out of control once again, not that things have actually changed that much. It's all perspective. So, I should change my perspective, I guess.

OK, so far I have Arisia, Ad Astra, TO Kink, Gaylaxicon, 9ICB, Kaleidoscope, Toronto Trek, and Anime North added to my yahoo calendar. Any other cool events that should be on there?

housing foo, plans

Some resolution. We've agreed to meet with omshu Saturday, and look at places afterwards. I still haven't seen any two bedrooms that are any good, but I just assembled a massive list of three bedroom listings that look like they could work out.

Plans to visit Boston also seem to be shaping up, finally. People are starting to contact me about hanging out, and plans are being made for crashing, etc. And, I may only have to take one vacation day. w00t! I'm getting really excited. The trip is arranged perfectly: some time in a pagan-owned place in the mountains, some time with two lovers and someone who may be a new lover, time with friends wandering around old haunts and thinking about my life, and then back in time to celebrate my parent's 30th anniversary only a few days late, and attend local New Years parties.

My fantasy: omshu, femmefatalist and I hit it off fabulously, find a gorgeous, large, convenient 3 bedroom which is available Jan. 1, before I even leave. I run off on vacation, and when I get back, I get to move!
