In spite of the ups and downs synonymous with being, well, me, it was a fabulous weekend.

My attempt to get home from TO on my own Friday night was a disaster, in part through my own mistakes. I'll try again some other time.

Saturday I went to Pagan Pride. I attended one workshop on Egyptian Mythology, and one on Sacred Stories (specifically, bardic/druidic telling of stories). I bought a lovely wand that I really like for an excellent price. It has lovely wood burnings on it of leaves twining around the wood, a nice quarts on the tip, attached with some olive green suede.

I socialized with some nifty people, including someone I'd met at [livejournal.com profile] night__watch's party a while back -- she represented the internet. :) Eventually I met up with some friends and we went to a pub, where we chatted about oral traditions and storytelling, intentional communities, polyamory, gender identity, political correctness, and more. It was awesome, but I had to bail before they adjourned for dinner... I just needed some me-time.

When I got home, I logged into OK Cupid for the first time in months, and there were 27 messages in my inbox. oops. I slogged through them, and then found a good looking bi guy with a high match percentage based supposedly here in Hamilton! We IM'd for nearly two hours... sadly he's just here for the summer living with his parents; during the year he's doing his MA in Montreal. We chatted for all that time about how to cure our society's ills through cultural conditioning, education, etc. It was awesome and yet random. We seemed to agree for the most part, which was neat.

Today it was off to the ren fest, where I finally got to meet [livejournal.com profile] rbowspryte and crew. I keep on meeting these people online who are part of a forming quad, and I thought, "wow, lots of quads in the GTA." As it turns out, actually, it was all the same quad. I've spoken to rainbow sprite, P, and Diver Gal on separate occasions, and they are all part of the same poly tribe. *giggles*

Anyway, there was some interesting discussion regarding potential housing arrangements. It will be interesting to see what happens.

I spent most of the day with [livejournal.com profile] yiab, which was great since we haven't seen each other in AGES. We're contemplating a pre-Serenity Firefly marathon, possibly involving a drinking game.

The Ren Fest was much more crowded this time, and there were more booths and wandering actors. Dunno why that was the case, but I had a blast. Got there early, checked out the booths, had lunch, and then settled down to watch the shows. Saw Men in Tights (cute, but not great), Naughty Nickers (amusing), Merry Widows of Windsor (hilarious, no really, you must go to this if naughty lyrics sung well appeal), and Zoltan the Adequate's evening show (okay, but not good enough to rate the raves I've heard -- but then, fire swallowing, deep throating, and play piercing are kinda old hat to a gal like me; I'm told his normal show is very different). And, the King's Joust!

I am, however, just plain exhausted. I need a weekend for my weekend. I'm just glad next weekend is a long weekend. I plan to keep it simple, although I might go into Toronto for [livejournal.com profile] knotty_mark's send off bbq.

All good things come to an end though. My knees are killing me once again, and I suspect I am overdue for sleep. So, good night world!
