Name at least three attainable things you have wanted to learn for a while, but have not seriously worked on since childhood.

  • a martial art, because I want to be a meditative badass, and because it's just a Good Idea

  • sewing, because I like pretty clothes and want to be able to make my own, or at least alter existing clothing as my body changes

  • the history of the world in brief, because I feel like an uneducated twit

  • more about the politics of Canada, and political "science" in general, because everyone should try to be as knowledgeable as possible in a democracy

Now pick one or more you want to make happen first, and if you like, tell us why you chose it/them

Martial arts because it will help me in my goal to lose weight and be more active.
The politics of Canada, because it is a simple investment of time, money, and effort which can be done in small chunks of time, and because it will be immediately applicable as an election looms on the horizon.

Now identify the first step(s) needed to realize this/these, and go out and do them! Post this in your journal so that others will follow in your steps while learning more about your hopes and dreams. And, if you feel like it, keep your journal up to date on your efforts to make these things happen.

If you can't do this meme because you're already doing all the things you've always wanted to do, tell us about what you're doing to make your dreams come true if you want to participate. And, have fun! :)

The rest of Sunday went remarkably well once all my Thinking calmed me down a little.

[livejournal.com profile] neeuqdrazil and [livejournal.com profile] curgoth were very gracious hosts in my anxietude (I invented a word! *bounce*), and they were able to Get Stuff Done while I geeked out on the laptop. Later, I rendez-vous'd with [livejournal.com profile] outcastspice who was fine and still available to be social. Yay!

Sadly, [livejournal.com profile] guru_pixel was unable to join us, as he is working his butt off 24/7. I wish him luck in all that, and also, a vacation! :)

Turns out spice just started working for Come As You Are, a nifty local sex toy shop, and she has to watch porn for homework. So we cooked tortellini together (yum!), geeked out some more on the computers, watched some amusing straight 80s porn, and also the Sue Johanssen show. I was NOT impressed with Sue, I have to say. Is she getting senile or something? She kept on not answering the question being asked, or missing out on answers which would have been helpful or essential to the questions being asked.
And, of course, Spice and I were able to chat and catch up a little, which is also super neat.

[livejournal.com profile] outcastspice was also a great hostess. She made sure I had a comfortable place to sleep, woke me up on time, and saw me off with a banana for breakfast and leftovers for lunch. Thank you Spicey!

This morning I woke up and made my way to work without much of any hitches. The commute from Bathurst station to my office took about an hour, but if I had known the bus schedule and timed the trains accordingly, or commuted during commute hours when the bus was in frequent service, it would have been more like 40 minutes. So, not bad. The train and bus were not even crowded, but if I commute even a little earlier, that might sadly change. :(

Today I have been doing a rocking job of Getting the Job Done, and only being Bad when I'm allowed to (on my lunch break). I'm such a good girl! *preens*

But, time to get back to work.

But not before a shout-out to [livejournal.com profile] thespian, who is relegated to patiently waiting by the mailbox for her acceptance letter. I wish you luck, sweetie! You deserve to get in.
