Straight from Office Space
Mar. 31st, 2005 01:18 pmMy sub boss just wandered in and informed me that we are all encouraged, from time to time, to take lunch in a room with other staff members. But it isn't required. According to
pyat, that was from the uber-boss, he just had the sub-boss do it.
I feel like Jennifer Aniston's character from Office Space being nagged about her flair. "Do you want to be the kind of person who does the minimum?"
In other news, I've been pretty anxious in the last few days. I suspect that the rate at which I've been doing freelance work is going to have to slow down a little, which is fine. It wouldn't have been this hectic if I hadn't gotten the donuts story idea, but that's into the editor, so it's almost all done. And my next story, if things work out, is a review of a nifty gadget for a top-dollar magazine. It should be much easier and more straightfoward than the donuts piece (believe it or not), and much more lucrative to boot.
Today is a paycheck day. Woohoo. Or something. I feel like an automaton. I imagine once I've adjusted I'll have more energy and feel less like I'm working or vegging all the time. I hope.
