I'm at "home" in Hamilton. My parents have been cool. My father seems to not know that it is rude to offer advice without being asked; it could be a parent thing, I guess.
I've got the wifi up and working, and pretty much everything I brought with me is unpacked. My "bed" (really, its a super thick soft futon) is made with my own bedding (pretty!), my speakers are plugged in and working... the scale isn't but I suspect it needs new batteries.
I have no dresser, but a large closet, so some creativity may be necessary.
My mother thinks that the 3 month 'wait' period is actually a processing period, and if I get my documents into OHIP sooner than later, I'll have healthcare sooner.
I chatted with my brother last night, which was cool; he invited me over to be social Friday evening, and
northbard has invited me to something on Saturday which sounds neat.
My doctor messed up and gave me 30 mg instead of 40 mg paxil. I'm trying to get this resolved, but we'll have to see what happens. I guess worse case scenario, I'll ramp down to 30 mg and see what I'm like at that dosage, but I'd rather not do that without a local doctor supervising me.
Everything so far has arrived undamaged, although the scale isn't working. I suspect that is because the button kept on getting pressed and wore out the battery though. I'll find out soon enough.
I had to unpack one of the boxes at the airport because it was 7 lbs. too heavy. Ironically, to get it under the weight limit, I ended up removing the scale and putting it in my carry-on. Figures.
Lots of stuff to get done now... We're about to leave to go winter coat shopping, and bug some pharmacies to see if they'd fill a prescription from an american doctor. We might also take a look at some local gyms or drop in on some cellphone company stores.
It is snowing lightly. There is snow everywhere; its pretty, but I bet as soon as I go outside I'll appreciate it a lot less.
Guess that's all for now. Much love to you all, and special thanks to the following people for helping me make this move happen:
