Squee!

I have a driver's license! Much thanks to all the people who offered to help, and most especially to bk2w for being there and letting me drive his (gorgeous) car. w00t!

And tonight is Port & Sunset, and last night I had a fabulous evening with my beloved. And I like the lunch option at work today. Yay! All is well with the world.

Port and Sunset anyone?

Is there anyone going to Port and Sunset who can give me a ride home (or even a ride there)? I'll probably go either way, but it would be nice to know so I can figure out how early to leave, etc.

Linux?

My father writes me:
Hi sweetie,

A big computer store is going out of biz and is having a close out sale. So my questions as to which version of Linux I should look for has become more timely.

Any comments?

I have looked at Mandrake, Red Hat, and Xandros. They all promise the same seamless stuff.

My plan is to buy a used computer, become Linux literate over the Winter, and then with no hurry at all in place, switch this computer over, thus never having to pay big bucks for OS or such software again.

Then in the year 2037, I intend to travel to - - - ----

I really WAS going to take a nap tonight before heading to sunset and port... really... silly girl.

Ah well. Instead I got a free, tasty dinner (leftovers from lunch), got the internet working here again, worked an extra half hour at Wired, and wrote a cover letter for unseelie. Now if I find the energy I'll eat some salty food and drink some OJ and maybe change or shave or somesuch before I head to Sunset and Port. Yeah.

Reminder: Ren Faire this Sunday

No one has contacted me about the Ren Faire trip! It's terrible!
