It's been both good and strange.

Talking with [livejournal.com profile] the_ogre has been great. He is good people.

Realizing that there are two parties tonight to which I am not welcome was a bit of a wakeup call. Kind of... reminds me of the judgemental patterns I'm working on leaving behind me.

Not as well rested as I'd like, alas.

Seeing [livejournal.com profile] merovingian and meeting his boyfriend was nice!

Bi brunch was... weird. I just felt totally disconnected and... dismissed by the people around me, as though I were a nonentity. Not something I'm used to. I'm such an attention whore.

Then we drove to pick up [livejournal.com profile] rbowspryte. She is so hot and beautiful.

She and theogre hit it off super well, and geeked art while I knitted. Yay!

We went to Berkeley so that theogre could pick up a book.

As we waited to cross the street, I saw [livejournal.com profile] unseelie and Ajax entering a half-price bookstore on the corner we were about to cross to. My heart leaped. I was shell-shocked. What a fucking coincidence! I wasn't sure what to do. I raised my hand in a half-wave, not sure if he wanted me to ignore him or acknowledge his presence. He went into the bookstore without acknowledging us, but as we walked by the store, I saw him talking to Ajax... it looked to me like he was freaking out a little. I felt bad. I know it isn't my fault... two minutes in either direction for either of our groups and we wouldn't have seen each other. And the wave... well, I didn't know what to do. I hope he understands that I didn't mean to impose my presence on him, or to make him uncomfortable.

I was somewhat discomfitted by the encounter, but my sweetie and the_ogre gave me hugs and I played with kittens at the bookstore.

***the_ogre says hi***

Then, in the comic bookstore next door, I ran into [livejournal.com profile] jencallisto. We briefly chatted and caught up. She lives in San Diego and I live in Toronto, but we ran into each other in Berkeley.

Today is apparently a day of serendipity.

Anyway, then we grabbed dinner in Berkeley at a little family run diner/greek restaurant, and then stopped by Mr./Madame S, and then hung out at the_ogre's.

Now we're heading to the Kinky Salon party. Hopefully it will be fabulous and involve some of the good serendipity rather than the bad.

when I had a bad crossover with SF's poly community, in which i was determined to be wrong simply because none of them knew me, so I had to be the person who was lying, [livejournal.com profile] the_ogre was the only one who turned around and listened to me impartially, though he hadn't the slightest reason to. He didn't judge one way or the other, but he also didn't tell me I was wrongwrongwrong.

(someone was lying, and two other people had been misled. because they didn't want to believe they'd been lied to by the liar, they instead decided to tell everyone that I was a psychotic ex. The liar is charming and he'd been there on vacation, and no one had met me, so for a year or so after it happened, whenever I met anyone from SF poly groups, the reaction was more, 'oh. you're that evil person. ((mental slottage))'.)
