My one year anniversary with the beauteous [livejournal.com profile] rbowspryte and the handsome [livejournal.com profile] will279802 is coming up in just two more weeks (or thereabouts).

I'm brainstorming for ideas of fun, romantic things to do that will make it special but not cost money, or not much anyway.

So, tell me your anniversary stories, your romance stories, etc. Be sacharine and sickeningly sweet. Tell me all about it.

In other news, H.S. from ESG got back to me and will give me an academic reference, so that gives me my minimum number of academic references. Who knows, maybe the other one will respond too... in the meantime, JG from XTRA has NOT responded.... I wonder what's up?

I took Paris to dinner in the 360 restaurant in the CN Tower. We went early evening so that we could watch the sun setting while we had dinner. It was a bit pricey but well worth it.

Also if you can find them a ride in one of those horse drawn carts is always a romantic option. Not sure where you could find one in TO though.

Another option is make a nice fancy dinner at home, use the good china and linens, and get a nice bottle of wine. There is a lot to be said for entertaining the ones you love at home.

Ooo might be a much better view than the back of some horse. :)

My favorite anniversary was also the simplest. It was after 6 months, and we got smoothies and walked along the river.

just in case you get tempted by the CN Tower restaurant, I've heard it sucks, or at least is not worth the money. I suggest Boujadi, the Moroccan place on Eglinton West, for a moderately expensive and worthwhile meal, with a lovely vegan menu item.

aside from that, I can't think of any romantic things right now, but I would save it for when Rachel isn't watching over my shoulder anyway. I believe in surprises. Also- kinda need to save some romantic ideas up, I've got valentines/anniversary coming up next month with both of my sweeties :)
