So, tonight I fly off to Newfoundland. Do NOT call my cell unless it is an emergency. I may not have access to email much while I'm there, so don't do that either. And, I will not be at the social Monday.
Tuesday, I have me-time scheduled (aka unpack!).
Wednesday, I'm planning on going to Bent.
Thursday, I'm planning on going to the Wet Spots' DVD release party.
Friday, Saturday, Monday are relatively unbooked, but I don't know how crazy busy I'll be with my own shit. I'm sure I'll spend some of that time looking at apartments with
darkestembrace and
technodemon. Sunday, I plan to go to a friend's BBQ. Weee!
I just finally watched the Wet Spots' video for "Do you take it..." *giggles* I like it muchly! I highly recommend you check it out, but it is NOT safe for work.
Co-Workers should not wear extremely lowcut tops with pushup bras. It is very hard to not look noticeably at their cleavage. I am glad that most of the women I ogle welcome it! It keeps things simple.
The other day I saw a young girl wearing a button that said "Jesus Pride."
I can't help but view that as an overtly hostile act to queer pride, given the season. That's kind of frustrating... I don't want to see it that way, but I'd be surprised to meet anyone who initiated buttons or shirts or signs like that who wasn't feeling somewhat hostile to the concept of queer pride.
I just followed up on one of my resumes. Yes, they got my resume. However, they're already interviewing people, so if they decide they're interested, it won't be until mid next-week. My question for people like
blackorchid1, who deals a lot with the interviewing process, is this: If you're already done with the first stage of interviews, and you get a really super-amazing resume, do you usually find that you want to interview that person before you make a decision? Or do you only even look at that resume if the existing pool of candidates isn't blowing you away?
Of course, it's for a university admissions marketing position, and I suspect that they will favour their own graduates for obvious reasons. So, maybe I'm not as good a matcha s I think... And, I'm conflicted about this job. It would combine my project management work, my mentoring work with high school and young college students, my communications work, and my science knowledge in one fell swoop, and pay a heck of a lot more than I'm making. But the location is... problematic.
Anyway, I'll see you all on the other side!

Date: 2006-06-22 11:09 pm (UTC)pride is the worst of the seven deadly sins, it is solely responsible for lucifer's fall from grace and it is the source of all evil, according to christian theory in general.
just mention this next time you see someone wearing that kind of button.
of course, pride shouldn't present a pagan any problems, so have fun!

Date: 2006-06-23 06:32 am (UTC)It depends on how the company's hiring process works. If they have a strict hiring process that's union-driven, they can't look at a new resume after the closing date. Only after the closing date can candidates be chosen for an interview. The point, in that case, is moot.
However, if it's not a strict process and not unionized, there's more latitude for new resumes to be investigated after the closing date of the posting. In that case, they'd likely look at the amazing resume and make a judgement call based on the existing pool of candidates. Unless it was something extremely impressive and an excellent match for the skills and experience they need, any new application would likely be just ignored.

Date: 2006-06-24 01:21 am (UTC)I am still a Christian (no longer Catholic), and the way I read Jesus in the Bible, he wouldn't have an issue with Gays.
The only anti-Gay stuff is Old Testament, like Leviticus, and even that can be picked apart.
Mind you, you're probably right about it, but not all people who believe deeply in Jesus are also anti-Gay.
