As cortneyofeden put it, today I am "out of sorts." I hate the world, and everything in it. I have all sorts of irrational bratty thoughts swirling through my head which I will not dignify by putting on "paper" here.

To calm myself and distract myself, I pretended to go lamp shopping online. Yeah, I know. While I was at it, I glanced at some pretty beds too. No worries, since I'm caught up on all my work in the office, and I've got most of the watch article done.

I know Target's evil, but they have stuff I like online. There should be a rant here about Canadian stores such as the Bay not having online shopping... bah. Bah I say! (Just sent them a snarky email suggesting the join the rest of us in the new millenium by putting their entire stock online)

OMG! The naked girl lamp is gorgeous! Ahhh! Of course if I bought it I'd have to paint her hair blue ;)

Knitting + A couple of hours of Law&Order is the best recipe for calming me down. Just knitting by itself leaves my brain too free to wander.

If you go to eBay and search for "art deco lamp" you will see many variations on "naked chick with globe lamp" There are also some with naked men, or clothed people. Most of them are modern takes on the theme, but you'll run into a few originals selling for anywhere from between a couple hundred to a thousand.

The one I linked to, and one other, are the only ones I've seen with the gorgeous long hair. That's certainly what captured ME about it! Unfortunately, I've only seen the long haired ones in shops in Australia. :(
