I just talked to EDD.
I thought that if I made more than $183 in a week, I would lose my benefits entirely. ACTUALLY, if I make more than $317 in a week, I lose my benefits for THAT week, but the money I don't get that week from EDD stays in my account, which means my unemployment benefits last a whole week longer. So even a crappy part-time job would be to my benefit.
They also informed me that
(1) when I work more than one part-time job in a week, I enter the total amount of money I made, and then only enter the information of the last place I worked in the slot below that.
(2) when I freelance, I estimate my final fee. Then I estimate what percentage of the project I did that week. Multiply and enter that into the form. This will force me to learn better how hard I'm working for how much money too, which is neat.
Yay!
