Yesterday... yesterday was a mess. I spent most of the day either running around getting Stuff done, or watching explosions occur in my personal life/trying to resolve them. They seem to be vaguely sorta kinda sorted out now, but not as much as I'd like. *sigh*
Then, I got home from visiting [livejournal.com profile] jadasc as he closed up shop, and found that I'd been waitlisted by BU. They give final decisions on May 20th, which is just ages now. While I'd rather be waitlisted than rejected, it still didn't exactly help my mood.
Still, good conversations with [livejournal.com profile] arcticelf, finding online resources to help me with the activities midway today, and having good conversations with my prefrosh (who is really coolspiffy) cheered me up after tours (which went flawlessly, though it was chilly outside and wet). Andrew 'fixed' my ethernet. Don't ask.

Slept for 6 hours (not nearly enough), got up, got stuff together for the activities midway, and headed over there. I was feeling a little grumpy about prepping for, setting up, and running the table all on my own. But I ended up next to the Anime club table by accident (they took the wrong table by accident), which had two people I knew working it, one of which identifies as Pagan! Also, [livejournal.com profile] nomadmwe showed up midway through, which was nice. We hung out afterwards for a good amount of time.
We had some very odd questions from people over the course of the midway. The first was a guy asking me if we read Harry Potter. I said personally, yes, but added it had nothing to do with being Pagan. He then said that he'd heard that Harry Potter was encouraging paganism.
I tried my best to disillusion him of this notion.
Not much later, a woman in a suit jacket came up to me, and asked if any christian parents had harrassed me yet. Guardedly, I said no, and told her the Harry Potter story. She then grasped her suit jacket, and pulled it open to reveal...

her name tag, which said "Marilee Jones" (MIT Dean of Admissions). "I just wanted to make sure you weren't having any trouble," she said.

I'm not making this up. This really happened. It was surreal... like clark kent ripping open his shirt to show me the S logo, except not as cool. Just... weird. I had thought she was a parent.

There was a smattering of people who took flyers, including some parents, believe it nor not. One guidance counsellor talked to me for a while about what paganism was. Some of the prefrosh even seemed mildly interested. We'll have to see.

Then [livejournal.com profile] nomadmwe and I hung out until it was about time for him to head out so he could catch his train. Yay for hanging out with cool people. The fun of chilling at a silly table at the activities fair and then with nomad left me in a really good mood. :)

Only downer is I found out that I have a test Tuesday I didn't know about, so I'd best get studying for it. And again, I have no job lined up. I will soon poke at the Stanford internship and see what's up with that, and start piling into the job search. Hopefully, something will turn up. *crosses fingers*

Prefrosh is gone. I get to see Andrew tonight. yay! BBQ at 5 or 6ish, bouncy ball drop at 6:30, meat market at 7 PM. Patrol... when? not sure. Maybe I won't do patrol... it would be nice to tool so I can not be stressed over stuff.

So right. I will go tool now. Later, folks!
